Sprint #gettingbettereveryday

Culture change is more effective when ALL contribute to the movement.

The new Sprint CEO, Marcelo Claure, wanted to inspire Sprint employees to be proud of the improvements the company was making. I worked with Marcelo and the SVP of Communications to design the internal rallying campaign #gettingbettereveryday. We leveraged a number of different communication tactics to inspire the entire Sprint employee base; including weekly CEO newsletters, internal brand collateral, video, social engagement and executive feedback loops.

In addition to designing the campaign strategy and co-producing the video, I also led the weekly team meeting of cross-functional channel leads. This team was responsible for disseminating the message throughout their organization and designing tactics that would work best for their business unit’s needs.

The campaign was a key driver in improved employee engagement scores for that year.

Biggest Learning:

It was more effective to set a vision, focus on outcomes and allow channel leads to develop their own specific tactics than to dictate specific asks from “corporate.” Retail, Care, and HR were able to effectively weave the strategy into existing initiatives and leverage their own expertise of their domain.

I partnered with David Clair of Special Order productions to create the above all employee rallying-cry video. The video included real sprint employees and real sprint moments, and was shown at Town Halls, on campus TVs and in social media.
